Paine Field is more than Boeing’s Everett factory. The airport is also a working hub for aircraft maintenance shops, parts makers and engineering teams, and a lot of the people who keep those projects moving come from out of town. If you’re a mechanic on a heavy check, a field service rep, an inspector or a contract engineer heading to Everett for a few weeks or a few months, here’s a better option than an extended stay hotel.
Who comes to Paine Field for work
Everett’s aerospace community includes some big names beyond Boeing. Aviation Technical Services (ATS), based in Everett at Paine Field, does aircraft maintenance work like C checks, aircraft transitions, painting, interiors and composite repair, along with component repair and engineering. Korry Electronics, which makes cockpit controls and displays, is also located at Paine Field.
Work like this brings in a steady stream of traveling professionals: airline technical reps watching over their aircraft, contract mechanics and inspectors, vendor and customer engineers, trainers, and new hires who need a place while they settle in. Most of them need housing for weeks, not nights.
A furnished lake house close to the airport
The Silver Lake House is a furnished, mid-century lakefront home on Silver Lake in south Everett. It’s near I-5 and a short drive to the Paine Field area, so early shifts and late finishes don’t mean a long commute. An Everett Transit bus stop is just one to two blocks away if you don’t have a car for the whole assignment.
Here’s what makes it work as corporate housing:
- 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths that sleep up to 7, so a small crew can share one house instead of booking several hotel rooms
- A full kitchen for real dinners and packed lunches
- A washer and dryer for work clothes and uniforms
- A workspace and fast Wi-Fi for reports, paperwork and video calls home
- A smart TV and a game room with air hockey and its own outside entrance
- Pet-friendly (with a pet fee), so your dog can come along on a long assignment
Rest that actually feels like rest
Maintenance work is physical, and shift schedules can be rough. The Silver Lake House is a calm place to recover. It’s a 1950s cabin with wood paneling, a stone fireplace and a sunken living room that looks out on the lake. Quiet hours run from 9 PM to 8 AM, and there are no parties, so it stays peaceful for sleeping between shifts.
On a day off, step out to the private dock, or walk the 2.2-mile loop around Silver Lake with its two public parks and disc golf course. No power boats are allowed on the lake, so it stays quiet. Mukilteo, Mill Creek and Seattle are all within easy reach for weekends.
Monthly stays and company bookings
Monthly and extended stays are welcome. If your employer or a staffing agency is arranging housing, booking direct keeps things simple: you work with the host, not a middleman, and we can talk through dates for a project that might get extended. The same home is also available for families who need temporary housing through insurance; see our Everett insurance housing page.
